Taekwondo at DCS - Fall TKD
Come learn an introduction to the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo at Durham Community School for any student who wishes to take part! There is no experience necessary, but if you have some training, that is fine too.Learn basic kicking and striking skills, self protection and defense skills, and traditional forms and patterns for the new student. You'll also learn ways to improve your physical fitness and focus while developing a positive attitude in your daily life! Come try out some classes and start on a track to achieving your first belt!Classes taught by Master Chasse, a Taekwondo instructor who has trained for over 38 years and taught for 25+, as well. Come try a 6-week course to get yourselves started on this exciting journey of learning an ancient art practiced by millions around the world! Sweatpants and a t-shirt will be all you need to start.

SparkYou: Science Masters - Science Masters (Early Fall) - DCS
Science is just the beginning! Each week, students explore exciting topics through hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, creative projects, games, and teamwork. They investigate subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, space, geology, electricity, and environmental science - but there's a twist: our students help build the curriculum! We encourage them to suggest topics they're curious about, and we design future lessons around their ideas. By giving students a voice in what they learn, we build confidence, and make every class an exciting hour where learning is driven by imagination and discovery.

Come learn an introduction to the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo at Durham Community School for any student who wishes to take part! There is no experience necessary, but if you have some training, that is fine too.Learn basic kicking and striking skills, self protection and defense skills, and traditional forms and patterns for the new student. You'll also learn ways to improve your physical fitness and focus while developing a positive attitude in your daily life! Come try out some classes and start on a track to achieving your first belt!Classes taught by Master Chasse, a Taekwondo instructor who has trained for over 38 years and taught for 25+, as well. Science is just the beginning! Each week, students explore exciting topics through hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, creative projects, games, and teamwork. They investigate subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, space, geology, electricity, and environmental science - but there's a twist: our students help build the curriculum! We encourage them to suggest topics they're curious about, and we design future lessons around their ideas. By giving students a voice in what they learn, we build confidence, and make every class an exciting hour where learning is driven by imagination and discovery.
MSS students may take their regular bus to MLS for this program.

Science is just the beginning! Each week, students explore exciting topics through hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, creative projects, games, and teamwork. They investigate subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, space, geology, electricity, and environmental science - but there's a twist: our students help build the curriculum! We encourage them to suggest topics they're curious about, and we design future lessons around their ideas. By giving students a voice in what they learn, we build confidence, and make every class an exciting hour where learning is driven by imagination and discovery.

You'll also learn ways to improve your physical fitness and focus while developing a positive attitude in your daily life! Join us to learn beginning jazz and hip hop dance moves, conditioning and improvisation. Get ready to have fun and work hard as we move to the beat! Age appropriate music will be used for all sessions. Please send your dancer with comfortable flexible clothes (no jeans) and sneakers. Morse Street second graders are encouraged to sign up for classes at Mast Landing and may take their regular bus there on class days. On the last day of the Winter and Winter/Spring classes there will be a parent showcase.All Late Fall dancers are invited to perform at the FHS Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, December 8.

Taekwondo at DCS - Fall TKD
Come learn an introduction to the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo at Durham Community School for any student who wishes to take part! There is no experience necessary, but if you have some training, that is fine too.Learn basic kicking and striking skills, self protection and defense skills, and traditional forms and patterns for the new student. You'll also learn ways to improve your physical fitness and focus while developing a positive attitude in your daily life! Come try out some classes and start on a track to achieving your first belt!Classes taught by Master Chasse, a Taekwondo instructor who has trained for over 38 years and taught for 25+, as well. Come try a 6-week course to get yourselves started on this exciting journey of learning an ancient art practiced by millions around the world! Sweatpants and a t-shirt will be all you need to start.
